Tampa Bay Real Estate Advice

Navigating Inspection Negotiations Without the Stress

The inspection is not the enemy

A lot of buyers get nervous the moment the inspection report arrives. But remember: the inspection is there to protect you. It tells you what you are really buying, and that knowledge is power in the negotiation.

Separate the big stuff from the small stuff

Not every finding is worth fighting over. Safety issues, major systems, and structural concerns matter most. Cosmetic items and normal wear are usually not worth derailing a deal. I help you prioritize so you negotiate on what actually counts.

Know what you are asking for

The goal is a fair outcome, not a perfect house. Ask for what is reasonable: repairs for genuine defects, credits for big-ticket items, or a price adjustment. When you ask for the right things, sellers are far more willing to say yes.

Keep your cool, keep the deal

The buyers who get the best outcomes stay calm and reasonable. I keep negotiations professional and focused so you get what you deserve without blowing up the deal. This is my favorite part of the job, honestly.
